A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last week to celebrate a longtime Batesville real estate team’s new franchise affiliation.
Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. announced in August that Weichert, Realtors – The Property Shoppe in Batesville has joined the Weichert national franchise system.
The company, previously known as The Property Shoppe, became the eighth Weichert-franchised office in the state of Arkansas and the first in Independence County, according to the Weichert announcement.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, was sponsored by the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and featured area dignitaries and Chamber Ambassadors.
Weichert, Realtors – The Property Shoppe is owned and operated by husband and wife, Bill and Hayes Olson, who have nearly 35 combined years of experience in the real estate industry.
“We are very excited to join the Weichert family,” Bill and Hayes Olson said in a joint statement. “With the backing of a national brand, we hope to continue helping clients from around the country find their permanent homes in north central Arkansas and build on our strong reputation as ambassadors for our beautiful region.”

The Property Shoppe first opened its doors back in 1980 and is one of the oldest real estate companies in Batesville. Bill and Hayes Olson joined the brokerage as agents nearly two decades ago before purchasing the company in 2006.
The Olsons are active in the local real estate scene and in community endeavors. They have each served as president of the Batesville Board of Realtors and as members of state committees for the Arkansas Realtors Association. In 2017, Bill received recognition as the Arkansas Realtor of the Year.
