George Devon Reeves, 89, of Desha, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
He was born in Promise Land, Arkansas on July 19, 1933, to William Reeves and Myrtle Stewart Reeves.
During his working years, he owned his own furniture business and upholstery shop. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.
George loved to play his guitar and sing, especially to his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions, yard sales, gardening, and watching westerns, especially those with John Wayne. He was a people person and loved going to church.
He is survived by his sons, Rickey Devon Reeves, (Barbara), of Salado, Charles Devon Reeves (Candy) of Hutchinson, Kansas, Larry Wayne Reeves (Shawnette) of Cave City; his daughters, Linda Marie Melton (Tommy Jo) of Batesville, Kathey Sue Schrimsher, of Southside, Violet Myrtle Louise Sheffield, of Desha, Misty Dawn Burnett (William) of Little Rock; a sister, Millie Marie Skaggs, of Jonesboro; twenty grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Toby Reeves, a sister, Ruby Preston, and a great-grandson, Dustin Leroy Couch.
Visitation will be Friday, September 30, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd, Southside.
The funeral Service will be Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service with Bro. Billy Cline officiating.
Burial will follow the service in the Egner Cemetery in Southside.
