Obituary: Ronnie Joe Cotter

Ronnie Joe Cotter,83, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away on Nov. 1, 2022, surrounded by his daughters. He was born to parents, Mae and Vernon Cotter, on July 21st, 1939 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Ronnie graduated from Chickasha High School and received a Master’s degree from Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. He and his father owned a construction business in his young adult years. Then he and his family moved to Mountain View, Arkansas, in 1973. There he began working on the new opening of The Ozark Folk Center. While eventually starting his teaching career. Ronnie’s love and passion for the arts brought him to become a professional Master Woodcarver. Which later led to the creation of his sculpture ”Miracle Face”. He was married to Connie Carrey.

Ronnie is survived by his sister, Verna May Story. Also three daughters Helen Turner and husband Lonnie Turner, Jeanett Cotter, Kathy Edmonson and husband Paul Edmonson. As well as four grandchildren Matthew Turner, Rachael Turner and Jeremy Ward. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren Isaiah Ward, Remi Hanson, Mila Turner, Leo Turner, and Roux Turner. Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, wife Connie and brother Jerry Cotter. Other than being an artist, his other passion was traveling. Ronnie and his wife Connie were fortunate enough to journey through countries of Europe.
Ronnie has not only left us with great works of art, but he has also touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

He will be laid to rest in the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View next to his wife Connie.
