Benny Wayne Goings, Sr. 78, of Newark, departed this life on Monday, November 21, 2022. He was born on January 23, 1944, in Sitka, Arkansas to Glenn Goings and Delphia Sylvia Morgan Goings.
He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He worked in construction during his working years, and he served our country in the Army.
Benny is survived by his sons, Benny Goings, Jr. (Teresa) of Magness, Bruce Goings, (Diane) of Cord; his brothers, Gary Goings, of Batesville, and Marty Goings, (Lori), of Newark; his sister, Glenda King, (Steve) of Cave City; grandchildren, Lauren, Kristen, Joshua, Monica, Payton, Gus; great-grandchildren, Kole, Haylynn; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda McNaughton Goings, a daughter, Shelia Guthrie, and a brother, Billy Goings.
Graveside Service will be Monday, November 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Macedonia Cemetery in Newark with Bro. Brian Combee officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Goings, Payton Goings, Cody Blevins, Tony Rogo, Joe Goings, and Shannon Simpson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Shane Goings, Gus Guthrie, Kevin Goings, Frankie’s Bar, and Spanky’s Bar.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 27, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd., Southside, Arkansas.
