Nora Elizabeth Brooks, 74, of Locust Grove passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at Baptist Hospital. She was born August 9, 1948, in Batesville, Arkansas to Harry J and Frances Pauline Fulbright. She married Johnny Brooks on June 20, 1969. She was a business owner of three Merle Norman stores and adopted many animals that needed a home throughout her life. She was a member of Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Johnny of 52 years.
Survivors include her brother, Gerald Fulbright (Sue); nieces, Susan Buser (Bob), Lisa Herrington (Ronney), Rebecca Elms (John); great nieces and nephews, Ayda, John Avery, Sawyer, Sadie, Thomas, Matthew and Carter; grandchildren, Clint, Austin, Jacob, Joel, Madison Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Todd Self officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Austin Brown, Clint Brown, Jacob Brown, Joel Brown, Brandon Brown and John Elms.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronney Herrington, Robert Buser, Gerald Fulbright, Lee Terry, and John Choate.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Humane Society of Independence County or the Old Independence Regional Museum.
