Obituary: Charles Hayden Barnett

Charles Hayden Barnett, 76, of Mount Pleasant passed away on January 29, 2023, in Batesville.  He was born on February 25, 1946, in Batesville.  He was the son of William and Effie Haigwood Barnett.  He was a heavy equipment operator as well as a minister and of the Pentecostal faith.  Charles had a servant’s heart.  He enjoyed deer hunting, coon hunting and running rabbit dogs.  He also loved his guns, playing guitar and harmonica, telling stories, watching westerns, trading and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carl Barnett, Coy Barnett, Roy Barnett, and Jerry Barnett; two sisters, Stella Ballard and Theda Cornish

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lorene Moser Barnett of the home; a son, John (Edna) Barnett of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Jeannie (Chris) Zirkle of Mount Pleasant and Kim (Chris) Emerson of Batesville; a brother, Gene Barnett of Batesville; six grandchildren, Matthew Zirkle, Kanesha Walker, Laura McGuire, Madison Barnett, Katlyn Barnett and Jemma Barnett; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Zirkle II, Charlotte Zirkle and Greyson Zirkle.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Leonard Tharp officiating.

Burial will follow at Reeves Cemetery, located in Guion.

Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service

Visitation will begin on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 12:00 PM until service time.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Cornish, Darren Cornish, Anthony Barnett, Brett Love, David Ward and Shannon Malloy

Honorary Pallbearers are Jason Briley, Lonzo Moser, Tony Moser, Donnie Mallott and Matthew Zirkle.
