Shirley Fay “Granny” Whitehead, 85, of Cave City passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023.
She was born April 24, 1937, in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Wallace and Lizzie (Martin) Cooper.
Shirley was a Godly woman who loved her children. She was a loving, caring, and friendly woman. She was a member of First Faith Pentecostal Church who enjoyed hugging everyone. Shirley was also a devoted wife for 65 years. She enjoyed word search puzzles, sewing, and quilting and loved to work in her garden.
Survivors include one son, James LeRoy Whitehead (Pamela) of Batesville, Arkansas; two daughters, Pamela Ann Clark (Danny) of Earle, Arkansas, Sherry Lynn Brown (James) of Cave City, Arkansas; one brother, Billy Paul Cooper of Cherry Valley, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, John Brown (Kayleen), Lindy Clark, Tanner Clark (Patricia), Micah Whitehead, Marcus Whitehead (Courtney), Christopher Whitehead, Brittany Warden (Eyan), Abby Greenlee; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James “Bud” “Pop” Whitehead and two brothers, Gene and Odell Cooper.
Pallbearers are Robert Martin, Ryan Martin, Eddie Chisem, Jeff Hobbs, Brice Foust and Terry Coats. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Ford, Tanner Clark, Members of the First Faith Pentecostal Church and Caring Hands Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the First Faith Pentecostal Church at 11:00 am with Bro. Caleb Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time.
