Marty Shane Goings of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 46. He was born January 9, 1977, in Batesville, the son of Marty Rodney and Lori Ann (McCoy) Goings.
Shane was a graduate of Newark High School and North Arkansas College at Harrison, Arkansas. He worked as a Radiologist Tech for Baxter Memorial Hospital in Mountain Home for many years.
Shane grew up outside farming and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.
Most of all, Shane loved his family and friends and especially loved spending time with his niece and nephews.
He was a member of Cord Baptist Church.
Shane was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Delphia Goings; and his niece, Eden Goings.
Shane is survived by his parents, Marty Rodney and Lori Ann (McCoy) Goings of Newark, one brother, Rodney Joe Goings and wife, Felicia of Sulphur Rock, Arkansas; his maternal grandparents, James and Lockie McCoy of Newark; his nephew and nieces, Joseph, Jacob, and Bethany Goings; many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit Cord Baptist Church on Monday, July 10, 2023, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Cord Baptist Church, with interment at Hopewell Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jacob Goings, Scott Moore, Kevin Goings, Brian Barber, Tommy Horton, B.J. Goings, Bruce Goings, and Jason Gardner.
