Obituary: Jonathan Corby McDonald Billingsley

Jonathan Corby McDonald Billingsley, 50, of Gulf Shores, Alabama passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023.

He was born December 15, 1972, in Newport, Arkansas to Rob Haas McDonald III and Shirley Billingsley Baker.

Corby was of the Baptist faith. He was a 1991 Batesville High School graduate. Corby was kind, a protector to all that he loved and his world revolved around his son, Brady. He had a larger-than-life personality, was the life of the party, and was a true loyal friend. He loved playing pickleball, sailing and just about all sports. He enjoyed karaoke, Texas Red Dirt music and the Randy Rogers Band, to which he was also a friend of the band. Corby was a connoisseur of beards and beer.

Survivors include his wife, Shawna Taylor Snyder of the home; one son, Brady Wells McDonald Billingsley of Maumelle and his mother, Amy Billingsley (Greg) of North Little Rock; his mother, Shirley Baker of Tuckerman; one sister, Adrian Wheeler of Tuckerman; four nieces, Bristen Wheeler, Kinsley Wheeler, Lexi Taylor and Darcie Taylor; three nephews, Hayden Edwards, Cole Taylor and Kyle Taylor and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Fred Billingsley and Dora Billingsley and paternal grandparents, Robert Haas McDonald II and Virginia McGregor McDonald.

Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Nelms, Michael Taglienti, Brady Black, Broch Hill, Eric Tonsul, Chris Rogers, Derek Foster, Josh Hamilton, Hayden Edwards and John Conner, Jr.

Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Chris Anderson officiating and remarks by Stu Smith.

A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the funeral home just prior to the service.

In true Corby fashion, he requested no flowers but instead asked for contributions to be made for Brady to assist with his lifelong therapy needs for Autism.

Memorials may be made to Brady Wells McDonald Billingsley Supplemental Needs Trust and mailed to Brady Billingsley c/o Amy Billingsley, 7308 Westwind Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72113.
