First Community Bank (FCB) and White River Health (WRH) will continue their 11-year partnership in hosting their annual women’s health event, HealthFirst. The event will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Batesville Community Center on 1420 20th St. in Batesville.

This year’s theme is “Game Night,” to remind all women that good health is a game changer, the White River Health Foundation said in a release announcing the event.

“It’s important for women to find time to focus on their health and well-being,” said Michele VanWinkle, executive director of marketing, Foundation, and volunteer services. “For 11 years, we’ve had the great pleasure to work with First Community Bank to give the women of our community an opportunity for free healthcare screenings and a fun night out.”

“We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with White River Health for the 2023 Annual HealthFirst women’s event,” said Boris Dover, president and chief operating officer for  First Community Bank. “This event reflects our commitment to the health and well-being of the  women in our community.”

The overall goal of HealthFirst is to equip women with practical tools for good health, as well as raise awareness of screenings and disease prevention steps that they can take. Free screenings and services provided include blood pressure screening, carotid artery screening, cholesterol check, hernia assessment, thyroid check, and flu shots. Educational opportunities range from depression education, mammography scheduling, stroke education, and more. Guests can also visit various community booths and play cards with a cardiologist to learn more about heart health.

FCB and WRH encourage guests to visit www.whiteriverhealth.org or the HealthFirst event Facebook page for more details about services provided and updates on the event. For more information, contact Madison Campbell at mcampbell1@whiteriverhealth.org or (870) 262- 6149.

Guests 18 and older will receive a free game kit while supplies last, as well as other goodies and opportunities to register for door prizes.
