Clifford Lewis Reynolds was born October 14, 1929, in Batesville, Arkansas to Herald Reynolds and Virgle Lora Robertson Reynolds. He entered his eternal home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at White River Medical Center in Batesville at the age of 93 years.

He married his high school sweetheart, Allene Broadwater Reynolds, on December 12, 1947, and were married for 63 years until her death in 2011. Clifford retired from his position as a City Letter Carrier with the United Postal Service after 30 years of service. He and Allene owned and managed We Care Day Care for several years. Before and after retirement, they owned and operated a successful rental property company.

Clifford and Allene enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri, especially when the grandchildren were able to join them. After he became homebound, he spent his hours watching the birds in his front yard. One of Clifford’s favorite hobbies was fishing. We are sure he is fishing on a heavenly creek bank with his favorite fishing partner, Allene.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Martha Sue Reynolds Hall; his wife, and an infant daughter, Rebecca Sue Reynolds.

He is survived by his daughters, Cathy Edwards (Glenn), Pat Rutherford (Bruce), and Pam Dover (Boris); grandchildren, Chad Edwards, Brian Edwards, Alana Dover Coburn (Brandon), and Kyle Rutherford; and great-grandchildren, Addison Marie Coburn and Avery Elise Coburn.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jim Kitsmiller, Bill Ulmer, Cam Russell, Randy Stroud, and his nephews Jim Hall and John Hall.

Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. Doreen Kamoga, Dr. J.D. Allen, Dr. Jay Jeffrey, Dr. Brad Griffin, Dr. Caleb Oster, Steve Bryant, Pharm D, Jim Watkins, and the staff of Davita Dialysis Clinic.

The family wishes to express appreciation to his caregivers Denese Stitcher, Jenniffer Sneed, and Margie Stroud who have loved our Poppy for three years. Poppy’s favorite son-in-law and best bud, Bruce Rutherford, was diligent in getting him to dialysis 3 times a week for the last three years. A special thank you to the staff of Bryant’s Health Care, Approve Home Health, Elite Home Health, and Vital Link for meeting Poppy’s health needs so compassionately. The fourth-floor staff of White River Medical Center went above and beyond to make Poppy’s last days comfortable.

Graveside services will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm Friday.

Memorials may be made in Clifford’s honor to Operation Christmas Child at any local church, Our Father’s Table at P.O. Box 2592, Batesville, AR 72503, or other charities.
