Freda Mae (Smith) Partain, 88, of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life Sunday, October 15, 2023, at St. Bernard Medical Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born March 12, 1935, in Fisher, Arkansas the daughter of Clarence and Minnie Mae (Matthew) Smith. Freda married Mr. Carl Ray Partain on July 26, 1952, and they enjoyed forty-four years of marriage before his passing in 1996. Freda was a homemaker, a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, and enjoyed flower gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Donnie Smith, and one sister, Christine Taylor. Freda is survived by two daughters: Carla (Mike) Haley of Barlett, Tennessee and Shelley (Dan) VerBurg of Piedmont, Alabama, two brothers: J.C. Smith of Harrisburg and Roger (Dale) Smith of Pilot Oak, Kentucky, one brother-in-law, J. R. Taylor of Harrisburg, three grandchildren: Lindsay (Jason) Good, Daniel (Andrea) VerBurg, and Jason Wilhite, and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 18, 2023, starting at 10:00 until Service Time noon at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Funeral Service Time will be at noon with Bro Kenny Guy McMahan, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Daniel VerBurg, Roger Smith Jr., Lynn Smith Jr., Michael Smith, Jason Wilhite, and Tommy Smith. Lindsay Good will serve as the Honorary Pallbearer. The interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
