Jewell V. Harris, 75, of Amagon departed this life on Sunday, October 15, 2023. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 21, 1948, to Emanuel Lee and Jewell Vaudine (Reeves) Brumley.
Jewell was a member of the Amagon Church of Christ. She dedicated her life to nursing. She was a nurse at Newport Hospital and Lindley Health Care. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and proud Elvis Presley Club member. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and watching her favorite shows on television. Her favorites were CSI, 48 Hours, Mystery series and Dish Scape. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always looked forward to their birthdays and spending holidays with all her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Clyde E. King, and Lester J. King.
She is survived by her sons, Allen Brumley (Genette) of Amagon and Gerald Brumley (Martha) of Amagon; her sister, Linda J. Johnson (Charles Johnson/deceased) of Fenton, Missouri; her grandchildren, Kimberly (John) Eskew of Newport, Joshua (Courtney) Maxcey of Mississippi, Sabrina Myers of Newport, Ashley (Chip) of Newport and Michael Brumley of Newport; fifteen great-grandchildren; her special friends, Joyce Thrash, Jackie and Vickie from the Blossoms.
Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on October 19, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Balch-Johnston Cemetery. Visitation will be October 18, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
