In loving memory of our precious angel, Shayla Dawn Short, who departed from this world at the tender age of ten, leaving behind a legacy of joy and warmth. Though her time on earth was brief, the impact she had on those around her was immeasurable.
Shayla had an infectious spirit that radiated happiness to everyone she encountered. Her love for life was mirrored in her adoration for television, where she found delight in the whimsical adventures of Bubble Guppies and the exploration of Dora the Explorer. These shows brought endless laughter and joy to her, reflecting her vibrant and playful nature.
Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts, a bright and beautiful soul who touched the lives of many. In the midst of our grief, let us remember the laughter she brought, the love she shared, and the joy she spread in her short but impactful journey on this earth.
Shayla Dawn Short was born on June 11, 2013, to Misty Myers and Brian Short.
She is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Tammy Powell, Peggy West, Gene West, and Donna French and her uncle, Shane Short
She is survived by her parents; Misty Myers (Jakeyvin Davis) and Brian Short all of Newport; her brothers, Cayden Jefferson of Newport and Brylan Short of Newport; her sister, Breanna Short of Newport; her grandparents, Deanna and Mark Dodson of Jacksonport, Michael Myers of Little Rock, her great grandfather, Dale Powell of Newport; her great-great grandparents, Louise Reed and Jimmy Prine of Newport; her aunts and uncles, Michael Myers Jr. of Newport, Daniel and Brenda Godair of Newport, Doyle Powell of Newport and Dale Powell of Newport; her cousins, Addalynn Myers and Ryder Myers of Newport.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with an interment at Cheshier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
