A Mountain View man is facing a felony rape charge after authorities allege he sexually assaulted an 18-year-old female.

According to a release from Stone County Sheriff Brandon Long, deputies responded to a reported sexual assault around 11:20 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 24. The release said upon arrival, the officers were told a female had been sexually assaulted after she was provided with alcohol. After a preliminary investigation on scene, Long said Heath Alan Noto (pictured below), 41, of Mountain View, was detained for rape.

After Lieutenant Detective Jenifer Osborn executed a search warrant, evidence was collected along with interviews with those at the scene. Warrants for DNA collection were also executed, Long said.

The sheriff said Noto was officially charged at the conclusion of the investigation.

Noto is currently being held at the Stone County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond. His charges include one count of rape, a Class Y felony, and one count of furnishing liquor to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.

While Noto has been officially charged and is in custody, the release said other aspects of the case are still under investigation, and additional charges may follow.
