
Myrtle E. (Melton) Meadows, of Cord, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, January 1, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born August 19, 1941, in Dowdy, Arkansas, the daughter of Henry and Ethel (Sanders) Melton.
Mrs. Myrtle was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-granny. She was a member of the Assembly of God. Mrs. Myrtle particularly loved growing flowers in her garden, never turned down a yard sale, and liked a good fishing trip. Most of all, she cherished get-togethers with her family and friends.
Mrs. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edward; an infant son; two brothers, Henry L. and R.B. Melton; an infant sister; and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Meadows and wife, Paulette, of Cord; one daughter, Marianda Huskey and husband, Jimmy, of Saffell; five grandchildren, Rita Sullivan and husband, Jason, of Calamine, Glenn Meadows of Cord, Jonathan Huskey and wife, Sydney, of Saffell, Katelyn Weaver and husband, Jacob, of Saffell, and Jennifer Pharis; her great-grandchildren, Ethan Wilmoth and wife, Shay, of Poughkeepsie, Matthew Sullivan and Allie Sullivan of Calamine, Cameron Meadows and Jordan Meadows of Cord, Scarlett Ables, Cora Huskey, Everleigh Weaver, and Ila Nettles Huskey, all of Saffell, and Lexie and Bricen Meadows of Cord; one great-great granddaughter, Karsyn Wilmoth; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, on Thursday, January 4, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, at Rosebud Assembly of God, with Bro. John Blankenship officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jonathan Huskey, Glenn Meadows, Jacob Weaver, David Meadows, Jason Sullivan, and Scott Melton. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Roddy Lochala, Rod Melton, Rob Land, James Meadows, and Dale Mitchell.
