
Kenny Wayne Baty, 66, of Newport departed this life on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was born in Newport on September 10, 1957, to Rufus Ray and Lucille (West) Baty.
In a life rich with diverse passions, he found solace by the water, relishing the art of fishing with trotlines and nets. The thrill of the hunt and the skill of trapping spoke to his deep love for the outdoors. Tending to his yard and crafting shovels, he intertwined the threads of nature and creativity into the fabric of his existence.
A true pioneer, he embodied the essence of the American Picker, uncovering treasures and stories within the artifacts of the past. Across 48 years, he was a devoted husband to Roberta Ann Baty, radiating love to his family. His legacy echoes through cherished connections, outdoor pursuits, and the craftsmanship that defined his unique journey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ronnie Baty, Donnie Baty, Johnny Ray Baty, Roger Dale Baty; his sisters, Betty Lou Dodson and Shirley Ann Whaley.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Ann Baty of the home; his sons, Anthony Dilday (Meg) of Pocahontas and Brian Baty (Deborah) of Newport; his sister, Faye Reid of Searcy; his grandchildren, Nicholas Dilday, Noah Dilday, Corey Dilday, Brian Baty Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Baty, Chad Lindsey, Shane Baty, Chris Whaley, Nicholas Dilday, and Brian Christopher Baty.
Service will be at 1:00 on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Watson Cemetery. Visitation from noon until service time.
