Saturday’s high is forecast to be in the mid-40s, but the water in the Batesville Aquatics Center outside pool will be even colder when participants in the 2024 Polar Plunge make a splash for the benefit event.

The annual dip into freezing water is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with on-site registration beginning at 10 a.m.

The event features teams and individuals brave enough to plunge into the chilly waters of the aquatics center’s pool. Participants are sponsored, with proceeds going to Special Olympics Arkansas.

Special Olympics Arkansas Area 16’s Ebony Brown (pictured) recently visited with White River Now’s Chad Whiteaker about this year’s event. Listen to her conversation with Chad below.
