
Hub Eugene Hembrey, 82, of Tuckerman, passed from this life on Sunday, February 25, 2024. He was born in Elgin on July 4, 1941, to Jack and Belle (Davis) Hembrey.
Hub, a cherished member of Diaz Baptist Church, found solace in fishing, hunting, and family. His devotion to loved ones made him a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His laughter and kindness touched many hearts, leaving a legacy of warmth and love. He was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh. His memory remains a cherished melody in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, T.J. Hembrey; his sisters, Sue Brasheres, Johnnie Armstrong, Thelma Cockrill, Emily Layton and Betty Stoner; and his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Joyce Hembrey.
He is survived by his son; Mark Hembrey (Vickie) of Diaz; his daughter, Misty Gates (Ricky) of Jonesboro; his brother, Jack Hembrey (Sandy) of Hickory Grove; his sisters, Katie Hawk of Newport and Chris Roberts of Vidalia, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Cassie Kissinger (Bradley) of Brookland, Tyler Hembrey (Maci) of Swifton, Tess Gates of Nashville, Tennessee: great-grandchildren, Alena Looney, Aiden Looney, Luke Kissinger, Addabell Hembrey, and Mason Hembrey.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Tyler Hembrey, Bradley Kissinger, Michael Shipman, Zach Shipman, Jake Shipman, and Aiden Looney.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Gracelawn Cemetery with Brother Jason Sullivan officiating.
