Obituary: Raymond Dewayne Bledsoe

Raymond Dewayne Bledsoe, 80, of Batesville, departed this life on Thursday, February 22, 2024.  He was born on June 17, 1943, in Cairo, Illinois, to Raymond Bledsoe and Eulah Robbins.

Raymond was very skillful in working as a rock mason during his younger years. Later on, he worked in the trucking industry.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on the farm with cattle.  He loved his family dearly which included his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and instilled in them family values that continue today.  His family has fond memories of him riding throughout the Midwest during his late 60’s on his favorite bike which was a Kawasaki motorcycle.

Raymond was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church.

Raymond is survived by his sons, Jamie (Tena) Bledsoe, of Batesville and Raymond (Amanda) Bledsoe, of Batesville; his daughter, Debbie Bledsoe Hall, of Rosie; his grandchildren, April (Jeremy) Russell, Denise (Hunter) Douglas, Christopher (Erica) Bledsoe, Jeremy (April) Bledsoe, Gabriel Bledsoe, Blake Bledsoe, and Kelsie Bledsoe; eleven great-grandchildren; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Lee, his son, Keith Bledsoe, and grandson, Matthew Williams.

The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, in the Doty Southside Funeral Service Chapel with Bro—Tom Doty officiating.  Burial will follow the service in the Maple Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Blake Bledsoe, Gabriel Bledsoe, Jeremy Bledsoe, Christopher Bledsoe, Ricky Fuller, and Gleneth St. John.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, and continue until service time.
