Donald Louise (Ferguson) Bailey Patterson, 103, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. She was born to Walter and Lillie (Campbell) Ferguson on February 6, 1921.
Devoted to her passions, she found joy in gardening, canning, sewing, and treasure hunting at garage sales. Her genuine spirit shone brightly as she selflessly assisted others in need. A faithful member of Tuckerman Methodist Church, she found solace in her faith. Remembered fondly as a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, her love and kindness touched many lives. In the tapestry of memories, her legacy of generosity and compassion will forever endure, a beacon of light in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Walter H. (Dub) Ferguson, and Forest Ferguson, her sister, Jeanne Tranchell, her first husband, Birdell Bailey and her second husband, H.J. Patterson.
She is survived by her son, Sidney Bailey (Dorthy) of Lindenhurst, Illinois, her daughter, Charlene Flournoy (Tim) of Huntsville, Alabama, her brother, Robert Ferguson of Memphis, Tennessee, her grandchildren, Lindsey Bailey Proesel (Matt) of Libertyville, Illinois, Leslee Bailey of McCall, Idaho, Bailey Flournoy of Athens, Alabama, Zach Flournoy (Leslie) of Athens, Alabama, her great-grandchildren, Kellan Finholt, Charlie Finholt and Amelia Flournoy.
The graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. at Dowell’s Chapel Cemetery.
