
Johnnie Ray Sandy, 77, of Lynn, departed this life on Friday, March 22, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 4, 1946, in Batesville to J. W. Sandy and Sue Lindsey Sandy.
During his working years, he drove long-haul trucks all over the United States. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Johnnie spent his life truck driving, raising bird dogs, hunting, fishing, and playing in pool tournaments. He loved to tell all types of stories and was very captivating in holding people’s attention.
He is survived by his loving wife of over fifty-nine years, Peggy; his son, Ray Dean (Jess) Sandy of Scott; his sister, Janie (Wayne) Bowling, of Caledonia, Missouri; his grandchildren, Madison and Anastassia; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diane, and a brother, Jerry Sandy.

The Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd, Southside with Bro. Larry Sellers officiating.
Burial will follow the service in the Alderbrook Cemetery in Desha.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Pallbearers will Michael Sandy, Steven Sandy, Clint Bowman, Johnny Brightwell, and Clay Smith.
