Obituary: Michael Dewayne Tarno

Michael Dewayne Tarno, 68, of Newport passed from this life on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.  He was born May 15, 1955, to Ovie and Dorothy (Hembrey) Tarno.

Michael embraced the outdoors with a passion, finding solace in camping, fishing, and hunting. His workshop was a sanctuary where he could express his creativity while playing with his dogs brought him pure joy. His generous spirit shone through his volunteer work for Relay for Life, and his culinary skills were showcased in barbecue cooking contests at Depot Days. With a zest for life and a love for adventure, Michael’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his warmth and kindness.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and his niece, Kathy Hardin.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Maxine Tarno; his son, Michael Tarno of Newport; his daughter, Kimberly Heuer (Dustin) of Batesville; his sister, Kay Wilson (Gray) of Indiana; and his grandchildren, Savanah Morris of Jonesboro, Caleb Tarno of Pleasant Plains, and Declan Heuer of Harrison.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Bro. Larry Jordan officiating.
