Marguerita Jeffcoat Kirksey Evans, 92, of Southside, Arkansas, formerly of Gordon, Alabama passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, in Southside. She was born September 1, 1931, in Gordon, Alabama in Houston County to Clio Earl Jeffcoat and Jewell Harmon Jeffcoat Powell and stepmother, Lucy Lynn Jeffcoat. She was a seamstress for 25 years at the Westex Pajama Factory in Ashford, Alabama and of the Baptist faith. Maguerita enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents and stepmom; her first husband, Buren R. Kirskey; her second husband, Almon R. Evans; one son, James Eric Kirksey; one brother, Charles Ira Jeffcoat; two sisters, Virginia Jeffcoat Spivey and Wanda Jeffcoat Bastick; and one son in law, Charles “Chuck” Jamison.

She is survived by her sons, Charles (Valesha) Kirksey of Little Rock, Arkansas and Anthony (Janis) Kirksey of Gordon, Alabama; two daughters, Celena Kirksey Jamison of Little Rock, Arkansas and Diana Kirksey (Lee) Thompson of Southside, Arkansas; one brother, Dwight Earl (Belinda) Jeffcoat of Dothan, Alabama; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Curt Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery in Southside, Arkansas.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Thompson, Keith Young, Eric Butler, Adam Martin, David Martin and Dave Martin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hazelrigg, Lee Thompson, Tony Thompson, Gary Cooper, Houston Butler and Bobby Tadlock.

Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville, Arkansas.

The family of Mrs. Evans thanks the staff and employees at Mountain Meadows for their love and care.
