Justin Ward (pictured), math instructor at Ozarka College, has been named 2024 Outstanding Faculty of the Year, according to the Melbourne-based college.

“Teaching math across various programs and online platforms, Ward has demonstrated versatility and dedication in ensuring that students receive the support and guidance they need to succeed,” Ozarka College said in a release.

Ward began working for Ozarka College in 2011 as a math faculty member.

“With a passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, Ward has made a significant impact on the lives of countless students at Ozarka College. Justin is dedicated to student success and has earned the admiration and respect of students, faculty, and staff of the college,” the release noted.

“This recognition is long overdue for Justin. Our faculty and staff are well aware of his work ethic and consistency in helping students be successful,” said Dr. Chris Lorch, Ozarka College provost. “He is yet another reason why our students are so prepared for their future endeavors, and Ozarka is fortunate to have him on the academic team.”

The designation of an outstanding faculty member comes from students, staff, and peer faculty members. Each group votes to select the faculty member whose teaching and student interactions during the academic year clearly demonstrated their commitment to ensuring student success and effective learning at the college.

Ward will be recognized at the Arkansas Community Colleges (ACC) annual conference awards and recognition ceremony in October.
