Arkansas State Police releases report on fatal accident north of Batesville

The Arkansas State Police has released its report on the June 6 fatal accident north of Batesville.

Around 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, state police said a southbound 2019 Peterbilt hauling a gas tanker stopped at the railroad crossing on U.S. Highway 167 at Valley Lane. As the Peterbilt stopped at the crossing, a southbound 2014 Isuzu delivery truck traveling behind it collided with the rear of the tanker. After the collision, the Isuzu stopped on the southbound fog line of U.S. 167. The Peterbilt was able to pull onto the southbound highway shoulder before coming to a stop.

Thirty-four-year-old Brian D. Moser of Batesville, listed by the state police as a passenger in the Isuzu, was injured in the collision and airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock, where he later died.

Twenty-year-old Samuel P. Crawford, also of Batesville, was in the Isuzu as well and sustained serious injuries in the accident. On the state police report, Crawford was not listed as a passenger or driver.
