On Friday, Stone County Sheriff Brandon Long released a statement regarding the successful location of a Mountain View man who had been reported missing for more than 24 hours.

Lesley Earl Sutterfield (pictured below), 55, was reported missing by his family on Thursday morning, Aug. 15. He was last seen at his residence on Iron Mountain Road, just outside Mountain View.

According to Long, Sutterfield was found around 1:45 p.m. on Friday.

Below is Long’s statement from Friday:

“After searching for nearly 26 hours, and investigating multiple tips and possible sightings, law enforcement was finally able to make contact with Earl just minutes ago. While certain aspects of Earl’s disappearance remain ongoing, he has been located and is safe. We would like to thank everyone that provided information and assisted in locating Earl. The outpour of support from the community and assisting agencies was phenomenal.

We would also like to recognize and give a special thanks to the volunteers and multiple assisting agencies that helped in the search for Earl. While there are far too many individuals to name specifically, the Stone County Sheriff’s Office would like to personally thank Eric Cavender for volunteering his time and drone service. Further thanks to the Melrose, Ben, Pleasant Grove, Allison Sylamore, Mountain View, Iron Mountain, Dodd Mountain, Lone Rock, and Timbo Fire Departments along with the Quapaw K9 Emergency Management Search Team, Stone County Emergency Management, Morgan Nick Foundation, Mennonite Search and Rescue Team, Arkansas State Police, United States Army National Guard, and the Mountain View Police Department for their quick response and assistance.”
