Arkansas Hospice, the state’s largest nonprofit hospice care provider, will hold a volunteer training session in Batesville on Friday, Dec. 13.
The session will begin at 9 a.m. at the Arkansas Hospice office, located at 3000 Jennings Lane, Suite C. Lunch will be provided.
The training is designed for individuals interested in learning about the organization and its volunteer opportunities. Volunteers play a key role in hospice care, offering support to patients and families in various ways. Tasks may include personal visits, providing caregiver relief, assisting with office work, or participating in special events. Specialized opportunities, such as sewing and pet therapy, are also available.
Volunteers must complete training and certification, pass background and driving record checks, and provide documentation of a valid driver’s license and insurance. A flu shot and tuberculosis test are also mandatory.
The Batesville office serves communities in Independence and Jackson counties.
“Whatever your talents might be, you can make a big difference for our Arkansas Hospice patients and families in Batesville and the surrounding area,” said Hannah Alvarado, the organization’s volunteer coordinator.
