Patricia (Childress) Anderson, 72, of Batesville, was born on October 13, 1953, in Marked Tree, AR, to the late Bryan Claude Childress and Sadie Aleen (Woods) Childress. On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, we learned that Heaven had gained another angel, whereas Patricia and her daughter, Teresa Owens, were in the presence of Jesus. Patricia was of Christian faith and attended church at the First Faith Pentecostal Church. Patricia had many hobbies, she enjoyed bird watching, poetry (she was a published poet), and was an avid reader. Patricia was also great at making jewelry and Christmas decorations (even if it took her 2 months to decorate for Christmas). She loved spending time online and made many friends through social media and YouTube videos. She also enjoyed attending family events at the VFW with her late husband, Bob. They enjoyed serving food at those events to veterans and the children in attendance. Patricia will be forever loved and missed by everyone who was blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Bryan Claude Childress, and Sadie Aleen (Woods) Childress; her husband Robert “Bob” Anderson; her sisters, Maedale Jones and Mary Alice Watts; her brothers, Larry Childress, Maurice Childress, and Ricky Childress; 3 nephews, Christopher Childress, eric Childress, and John Childress; and her niece, Sheila Watts. She is survived by her son, Steven Cole (Shanda); her daughter, Paula Gavin (Chris Shreve); her grandchildren, Aiyana Burt (Brandon Dittius), Dexton Gavin (Amanda), Joseph Gavin, Jr. (Zoe); Timothy Neal; and Seth Cole; 3 great-grandchildren, Maddox Gavin, Zander Yates, and Braxton Yates; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a memorial service for both Patricia, and her daughter, Teresa Owens, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM, with the service beginning at 2 PM. The family would like to recognize the following people as honorary pallbearers: Dexton Gavin, Joseph Gavin Jr., Jeff Welcher, Clifford “Alan” Welcher, Brian Smith, Kerry Medley, and Seth Cole. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victims of Domestic Violence Foundation.
