Teresa Renee (Reed) Owens, 53, of Batesville, was born on November 4, 1971, in Osceola, AR, to the late James Reed, Jr. and Patricia (Childress) Anderson. On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, we learned that Heaven had gained another angel, whereas Teresa and her mother, Patricia Anderson, were in the presence of Jesus. Teresa was of Christian faith and attended church at both The Cowboy Church and Second Chance Church. Teresa was selfless and had a servant’s heart. She loved to help others. Whether that meant just being an uplifting presence for those around her when life got hard, or volunteering her time to feed the homeless and participate in jail ministry. Teresa truly found joy in helping others. She was an advocate for victims of domestic violence and for those who were in recovery from addiction. She loved to help people walk in victory and touched countless lives. She will be truly missed by those left to carry on her legacy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her biological father, James Reed, Jr., and her mother Patricia Anderson; her first love and husband (the father to her son), John Neal; and her husband of 20 years, Michael Owens. She is survived by her father, Jimmy Cole; her son Timothy “T.J.” Neal; her brothers, Steven Cole (Shanda) and Daniel Cole; her sister, Paula Gavin (Chris Shreve); her grandson, Cameron Smallwood; her niece, Aiyana Burt (Brandon Dittius); her nephews, Dexton Gavin (Amanda), Joseph Gavin Jr. (Zoe), Seth Cole, Dylan Cole, Tyler Cole, and Logan Cole; her great nephews, Maddox Gavin, Zander Yates, and Braxton Yates; and many extended family members and friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a memorial service for both Teresa and her mother, Patricia Anderson, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM with the service beginning at 2 PM. The family would like to recognize the following people as honorary pallbearers:  Dexton Gavin, Joseph Gavin Jr., Cameron Smallwood, Jeff Welcher, Clifford “Alan” Welcher, Brian Smith, Kerry Medley, and Seth Cole. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victims of Domestic Violence Foundation.
