Obituary: J. D. Brown

J. D. Brown, 88, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away on May 17, 2025. He was born September 3, 1936 to Billy and Opal Mae (Jones) Brown.

J.D. quit school at the age of twelve after his mother passed away, to help his dad support their family. He was always a friendly face to see, putting smiles on faces everywhere he went. J.D loved hunting, fishing, digging for arrowheads, and being outdoors enjoying nature. J.D.’s greatest love was spending time with his family.

J.D. leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Mary Brown of Mountain View, Arkansas; his six children, Leon (Theresa) Brown of Mountain View, Arkansas, Lora (James) Pennington of Drasco, Arkansas, Ann (Albert) Carvalho of Mountain View, Arkansas, Loresa Brown of Cushman, Arkansas, Gidget Brown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Dee Knight of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; grandchildren, Andy Cary, Veronica (Earl) Mingues, Victoria Dycus, Brandi (Josh) Lee, Buck (Carmissa) Chism, Albert Carvalho III, Dalton Brown, Cole Brown and Lea Brown all of Mountain View, Crystal (Trevor) Nordstrom of Missouri, Derrick Brown of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, Heather Ellis of Marysville, Kansas, and Matthew Willis and two other grandchildren from Missouri, twenty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

”J.D. went to be with the Lord, but he will remain in our hearts forever.”

J.D. is preceded in death by his parent,s Billy and Opal (Jones) Brown; three brothers, two sisters, one son, one granddaughter, one grandson, one great granddaughter and one great grandson.
Visitation will be held at Roller Crouch Chapel, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Roller Crouch Chapel, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Case Cemetery, Mountain View, Arkansas. Officiating will be Jerry Cary, James Standberry, and Carmissa Chism.

The family will give you the opportunity to share a memory or just say a few words about J.D.

Pallbearers are Andy Cary, Justin Dycus, Buck Chism, Caleb Cary, Dalton Brown, and Cole Brown. Honorary Pallbearers are Earl Mingues, James Stanberry, Roger Greenway, and Derrick Brown.
