
Larry Don Turney, 77, of Lincoln, AR, died on Friday, May 23, 2025. Larry was born on April 19, 1948, in Manila, AR, to the late Blain Turney and Cleo (Loveless) Turney. Larry was of the Pentecostal faith and spent part of his life preaching the gospel. He was a member of the Lincoln Church of God in Lincoln, AR. Larry was a hard worker. He worked as a farmer and a poultry worker for several years. Larry also had a wide range of hobbies. He loved music. He was a gifted guitar player and also liked to play the piano. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising animals (especially his hunting dogs). He was a family man first. He was a loving and devoted husband, a warm and caring father, and a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather. He truly cherished his role as “Paw-Paw.”, he loved coming up with nicknames for his grandchildren right up until he was no longer able to speak. Larry was also a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Larry is preceded in death by both of his parents; his 3 brothers, Donald Turney, Rufus Turney, and L.G. Turney; his 3 sisters, Mildred Aycock, Shirley Waldrep, and Carrie Mays; and his daughter-in-law, Melinda Turney. He is survived by the love of his life, and his wife of almost 56 years, Freida Turney, of the home; his son, Randall Turney (Lea), of Cave City, AR; his 3 daughters, Lavonda Clark (Robert) of Agnos, AR, Mary Clem (Phillip), of Cave City, AR, and Katherine Lawyer (Lee), of Cave City, AR; his brother, Lonnie Turney (Kathi) of Sulphur Rock, AR; his two sisters, Elaine Middleton (Jerry) of Pfieffer, AR, and Susie Parker (Sammy), of Manilla, AR; his 9 grandchildren, Felicity Wilkes (Chris), Courtney Perkey (Clint), Chandra Brannon (Donovan), Brittaney Lawyer, Petty Officer 2nd Class Dakota Levitt (Whitney), Alysha Adams (Dean), Coby Turney, Kara Woods (Dalton), and Kaleb Clem; his two bonus grandchildren, Tracy Comer (Alex) and Brittany Akin (Jacob); 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM with the Funeral Service officiated by Bro. Wally Varner and Bro Allen Cartwright, beginning at 2 PM. The family would like to recognize the following people as honorary pallbearers, Randall Turney, Kaleb Clem, Mason Levitt, Chris Wilkes, Dean Adams, Dalton Woods, Clint Perkey, and PO2 Dakota Levitt, USN.
