Mary Rene Young, but went by Rene, passed away at Unity Health Hospital in Newport, Arkansas, on May 20, 2025, at the age of 60.
She was born in Tulane, California, She moved to Azle, Texas with her husband with her husband in 2000. After his passing in 2017, she moved to Newport, where she lived out the remainder of her life.
Rene was a very passionate and outspoken person. She always had a way of speaking her mind, especially if it was about something she didn’t agree with. Even though she was stubborn and strong-willed at times, she was also caring and loving. She loved her family and friends fiercely and was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved Cardinals and the color purple, but most of all, she loved spending time with her son and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Calvin Crowder; her mother, Mary Ann Crowder; her husband, Louis Charles LaChapelle; and three brothers, Charles Crowder, Larry Crowder, and Jessie Crowder.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeffery Crowder and wife, Kendra Landry, and Michael Crowder and his wife, Shayla Crowder; her grandchildren, Georgie Crowder, Akina Crowder, Brian Crowder, Julliann Crowder, Ryan Crowder, Jessie Crowder, and Benjamin Crowder; her sisters, Sharron Godair and Michelle Gilles; and her brothers, Gary Crowder, Chris Crowder, and Billy Joe Crowder.
Rene’s final wishes were to be cremated and placed alongside her husband. As for now, no funeral arrangements have been made, but a memorial service will be held at a later date.
