It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Ruth Carmichael on May 30, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas after a short illness. Ruth was born on November 23, 1944, in Monterey County, California and was raised by her father, Sam Paulsen.
Ruth met her husband while he was in the service, stationed near her home in California. After a short courtship, they married on July 5th, 1963. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, and making porcelain dolls. After retirement, they settled in Mountain View, Arkansas in 1998, where she volunteered with the local Boy Scout troops, the humane society and the children’s church where the family attended.
Surviving members of the family include her loving husband of 62 years, Ray Carmichael; children, Angela Friesenborg and husband Michael of Mason City, Iowa, Clay Carmichael and wife Marja of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Mandi Trammell and husband Danny of Mountain View, Arkansas; grand-children, CJ Carmichael of Dallas, Texas, Emma and Zachary Carmichael of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Ashley Van Dyke of Mountain View, Arkansas, Paige Porter and husband Ben of Conway, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Remington of Dallas, Texas, Adaleigh of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Caspian of Conway, Arkansas.
