Obituary: Neda Fay Gordon

Neda Fay Gordon, 80, of Newport, passed from this life on June 2, 2025. She was born in Newport on September 4, 1944, to William Sherman and Dessie Mae (Laird) Shelley.

Neda was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion to her family and her Lord. She was a proud member of The Body of Jesus Christ Church and served as a non-denominational evangelist, sharing the love and message of Christ with all who would listen. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her words, actions, and love for others.

She found peace and joy in reading her Bible, watching Daystar, and listening to uplifting Christian music. Her days were filled with spiritual reflection and a constant desire to grow closer to God. Neda had a heart for ministering to others and encouraging them in their walk with the Lord.

Above all, Neda loved her family deeply. Her presence was a source of strength and comfort, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Nathaniel Gordon; her brothers, Raymond Shelley and Norman Shelley; her sisters, Brenda Carrizales and Jennie Rae McCoy.

She is survived by her brother, Harvey Shelley of Florida; her sister, Linda Holmes of Walnut Ridge; two grandchildren; Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
