Betty Annette (Avey) Gillihan, 61, was born June 27th, 1963, in Batesville, Arkansas, to J.E. and Mabel Ruth (Gill) Avey and passed away on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She grew up running the hillsides at Big Springs and Luber with her Avey and Gill cousins and both of her little brothers. Some of her favorite times were spent tending to and riding George, her beloved horse. Annette graduated from Timbo High School in 1981 and then married the love of her life, Doyle Gillihan, on June 25th, 1982. They celebrated almost 43 years together, raising two children and seven grandchildren. Annette worked for many years at Blanchard Shirt Factory before going to work for Conestoga Wood Specialties. When Conestoga shut down in 2011, she went to work for West 66 Food Mart and then continued to work at the Flash Market Station until her illness.

Annette loved spending time with her kids and grandkids shopping, at home, or just pretty much anywhere. She loved gardening and especially tending to her beautiful roses. Annette loved to read and V.C. Andrews’ books were her absolute favorites.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, a sister-in-law, Sharon Misenheimer, aunts Betty (Gill) Misenheimer and Louise (Avey) Goodman, uncles Lester Gill, Leon Avey, and Letus Avey, as well as her maternal grandparents Lester and Allie Gill and her paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Clara Avey.

Annette is survived by her husband Doyle, her children Nikki Gillihan and Aaron (Corinna) Gillihan both of Mountain View; her grandchildren Brooklyn Gillihan, Savannah Cluck, Aubrey Gillihan, Gunner Gillihan, Rilee Gillihan, Brynley Lee, and Oakley Gillihan; her brothers Anthony (Cindy) Avey of Mountain View and Todd (Kimm) Avey of Newnata; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Gary) Gammill and Glenda (Jackie) Engle of Mountain View; brothers-in-law Dennis (Debbie) Gillihan of Wichita, Kansas and Alan Misenheimer of Mountain View; aunt Rhonda (Avey) Stewart of Big Springs; uncle Sam Gill of Luber, as well as numerous nephews and nieces and a host of other family members and friends that will miss her bright smile.

A visitation will be held at Mountain View Funeral Service on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 am with Brother Junior Barham and Darrell Gosser officiating.
