Obituary: Edward Earl “Treeman” Dixon Sr.

Edward Earl “Treeman” Dixon Sr., 68, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on June 1, 2025. He was born on April 13, 1957, in Elaine, Arkansas, to the late Sam F. Dixon Sr. and Zella “Brown’ Dixon.

Edward was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his love of fishing, his skill as a tree cutter, and his passion for hunting. Above all, he was a true family man who cherished time spent with his loved ones.

He leaves to cherish his memories: five sons, Edward (Tiffany) Dixon Jr., Gerrod (Shanice) Dixon, Travis (Christina) Dixon, Antonio Dixon, and Deon Dixon; four daughters, Cheryl (Roy) Covington, Joy (Trey) Harris, Cecilia (Darrin) Middleton, Chappell Dixon and Vanessa Ford; five brothers, Sam Dixon Sr., Morris Dixon, Jim Dixon, Troy (Danita) Dixon Sr., and Clyde Dixon; four sisters, Sarah Ford, Virginia Dixon, Brenda Dixon, and Cynthia (Ross) Johnson; thirty grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Sam F. Dixon Sr. and Zella “Brown” Dixon; four sisters, Lula Mae Vance, Dorthy Taylor, Willie Mae Walker, and Annie B. Dixon-Gage; and one brother, Crafton Dixon.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Willis Funeral Service Chapel, immediately followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Sarah Ford.

Honorary pallbearers include his five brothers: Sam Dixon Sr., Morris Dixon, Jim Dixon, Troy Dixon Sr., and Clyde Dixon.

Edward will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his strong spirit, love for the outdoors, and unwavering devotion to his family.
