
Joan Lee (Butler) Pitts, age 94, of Floral, Arkansas, passed away on June 11, 2025. She was born on November 29, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late James Edward Nash and Haldina “Hasse” Nash.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her first husband, Albert Butler, owned and operated Butler Grocery Store for many years, where they became well-known in their community. Joan had a passion for bowling and was a longtime member of the “Thursday Morning Ladies” bowling team. She also enjoyed watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Charlotte) Butler and James Butler; her daughter, Denise Butler; her brother, Franklin Nash; five grandchildren, Michael, Jeremy, Sydney, Shelby, and Samantha Butler; and one great-grandchild, Abby Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Nash and Haldina “Hasse” Nash; her sister, Marilyn Nash; her first husband, Albert Butler; and her second husband, Joe Pitts.
A graveside service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Floral, Arkansas, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM, officiated by Wesley Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Michael Butler, Jeremy Butler, Jerrod Frazier, Sherwin Merherg, Nathan Ramsey, and James Emerson.
Joan will be remembered for her quiet strength, loving spirit, and lifelong dedication to her family.
