Jim Broyles, 73 of Mountain View, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and child of God, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 24, 2025. Jim was a proud member of Arbanna Baptist Church and lived a life rooted in faith, devoted to Christ, and guided by the teachings of the King James Holy Bible. He found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promise of eternal life.
Jim was born in Batesville, AR on November 3, 1951 to Leonard and Era Broyles. He was raised and went to school in Mountain View. He met his soul mate, Brenda Smith, of Timbo, in 1969. They were married in 1971 and were blessed with 54 wonderful and loving years together. They had two sons, Bart (1973) and Brad (1977), who they raised in the church and loved them endlessly.
Jim cherished the time he was able to spend with his four precious grandchildren. He made them laugh non-stop while at the same time teaching them life lessons that won’t be forgotten. Whether teaching his grandson to drive one of his hot rods or taking his granddaughters for a ride on the side-by-side or four-wheeler, he made memories for them that will be valued for a lifetime.
Jim spent over 53 years working in home construction across Northern Arkansas, and recently estimated that he had built between 250 to 300 homes over the years. He was proud of the work that he did and of all the people he met and worked with over the years. A lifelong passion of his was working on and driving his classic cars. He was an early member of Mountain View Classic Cruizers car club and spent countless weekends going on car cruises and shows with them over the years. He truly enjoyed the time he spent with his car club second family!
He is survived by his wife Brenda of Mountain View, AR, sons Bart (Elena) of Bartlett, IL and Brad (Lisette) of Mountain View, AR, grandson Ethan Broyles of Bartlett, IL, and granddaughters Brenlee, Rylee, and Emilee Broyles of Mountain View, AR, one brother J.L. Broyles of Newnata, AR and sister Janice Brown of Mountain View, AR.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Era (Lawrence) Broyles; four brothers, Eugene Broyles, Conley Cummings, Johnny Broyles, and Paul Broyles; one sister, Carolyn Whidden.
A visitation will be Friday, June 27th, 2025, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Arbanna Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 am with Brother Jim Chandler and Glen Swafford officiating. Interment will take place at Blue Mountain Cemetery in Timbo, Arkansas.
