Isaac Landrum, 81, of Newport, passed from this life on July 1, 2025. He was born June 22, 1944, in Augusta, Arkansas to Abraham Lonzo and Alzura Abigail (Brown) Landrum.

Isaac was a man known for his humor, warmth, and larger-than-life personality. A true jokester and storyteller, he had a special gift for making people laugh and feel at ease in his presence. Whether gathered around a table playing cards or standing by the grill preparing food for family and friends, Isaac brought joy and laughter wherever he went.

He had a fondness for classic westerns and could often be found enjoying them on television, drawn to their timeless tales of grit and character. Isaac was a proud member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life.

He worked for many years as a steelworker in the steel industry, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. Isaac was proud of his work and the life he built through it.

Above all, he will be remembered as a man who loved his family, his faith, and a good story. His legacy of laughter, love, and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Isaac Landrum Jr.; his brothers, Abraham Landrum, Eddie Landrum, William Landrum, and Willie Landrum; his sisters, Lonzella Foster, Fannie Grant, Annie Haywood, Mae Ella Smith, Lorzee Reed, Willie Ela Rowland, and Ruby Jean Walter.
