Jimmy (Jim) Fields, 73, of Grubbs passed from this life on July 10, 2025. He was born on January 2, 1952, in Newport to Calvin Junior and Malissia Betty (Tubbs) Fields.

Jimmy retired from the Arkansas Department of Corrections after a dedicated career of service. He was a proud patriot who loved his country deeply and especially enjoyed celebrating New Year’s and the 4th of July with fireworks, laughter, and family.

Known for his quick wit and good-natured humor, Jimmy was a true jokester who could always bring a smile to your face. He had the biggest heart and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it.  He found great joy in the outdoors and spent many seasons deer and duck hunting. He also had a love for operating heavy equipment—especially running a backhoe, which brought him a sense of purpose and pride.

Above all, Jimmy was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and friend. His strong spirit, warm heart, and unforgettable stories will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dianne; his brothers, Clinton Fields and Dale Fields; and his brother-in-law, Larry Johnson.

He is survived by his son, Jimbo Fields of Grubbs; his daughter, Shawna Mclaughlin (Kyle) of Grubbs; his sisters, Betty Johnson of Cash and Lougean Fraser of Wynne; his grandchildren, Shelby Clark (Andy) of Georgia, Ailey Fields of Grubbs, Clavin Fields of Grubbs; many nieces, nephews and close family members; and his dear friends, Keith Livesay, Donald Best and David Williams.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

Service will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery.
