Obituary: Donald Fox

Donald Fox, 87, of Charlotte, passed away on July 29, 2025, in Batesville. He was born on July 21, 1938, in Morganton, NC to Charles and Virgie Fox. He served honorably for 21 years in the Arkansas Army National Guard. Donald was married to his lovely wife, June Fox, for 58 years before she went home to the Lord. A dedicated public servant, he served on the Cord-Charlotte School Board, the Charlotte Fire Department Board, and the Charlotte Water Department Board. He served as Justice of the Peace for District 5 on the Independence County Quorum Court for 7 years. He was a member of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association and was of the Baptist faith.

Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, cattle farming, and rodeo. He enjoyed time with his family and was especially fond of his great-grandson, Henry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Fox; and two brothers, Arnold and Derryl Fox. He is survived by one daughter, Staci Albert (Paul); one son, Wesley Fox; one grandchild, Haley Albert-Tate (Anthony); one great-grandchild, Henry Tate; two brothers, Manley and Curtis Fox; and one sister, Loretta Dawson.

Memorial Services will be on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Chuck Crow officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers are Jerrel Lillard, Dean Fugett, Roy Thomas, Marty Melton, Steve Baxter, Charles Bullington, Steve Hampton, Jerry Pruett, Jay Runyan, Mike Cumnock, Greg Hazelrigs, and Tracy Wallis.

Donald’s family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Wood-Lawn Heights Nursing Home and Caring Hands Hospice for the care Donald received in the final days of his life.
