John Glenn Prince, 69, of Augusta, AR, passed away on July 29, 2025, in Batesville, AR. He was born on September 26, 1955, in Sulfur Springs, TX, to the late Gene Edward and Francis Lee Prince.

John graduated from Augusta High School through the University of Arkansas in 1973. He then went into the Army before going to Law Enforcement school. He then went on to be a tile setter with his sister and brother-in-law. His final jobs before becoming disabled due to a shoulder injury were maintenance at nursing homes in Independence County. After becoming disabled, he took care of his parents during their last years with his sister.

He had one of the best personalities; there was never a dull moment around him. He loved taking care of the elderly. He loved astronomy and looking at the moon, planets and stars through his telescope, “Big Bertha”. He loved music and playing the guitar. He also loved and collected all kinds of watches. Above all else, he loved the Lord and was an avid prayer warrior. He will be greatly missed by all those blessed to know him.

John is survived by his sister, Karen Kelley; his brother-in-law, James “Butch” Kelley; his niece, Alyssa Garner; his niece, Lauren Crouch; and many great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Francis Prince; his brother, Gene “Ned” Edward Prince II; and his nephew, Gene “Trey” Edward Prince III.

Willis Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
