
Ona V. (Finster) Vickers, 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 4, 2025, in Batesville, AR. She was born on February 6, 1926, in Batesville, AR, to the late Clay Finster and Gladis (Kimbrough) Finster. Ona was a great cook and kept an immaculate house. She enjoyed fishing in her younger days, shopping, and cross-stitching. Ona was a babysitter and made the kids walk the line. She was a jokester, too, and loved teasing those she loved. She especially enjoyed her visits from her great-grandson, Louis. Her favorite color was Red. Above all else, Ona loved the Lord and attended Cushman Assembly of God for worship.
Ona is survived by her daughter, Betsy McMahan (Steve); grandchildren, Tracy McMahan (Angela), Stacy McMahan Tebbetts (Greg), Mike Vickers (Elke), Chris Vickers (Clay), and Ben Birkhead (Brandi); great-grandchildren, Louis Tebbetts, Kayle Wilkins Hawk (Hunter), Parker McMahan, Ethan McMahan, Jacob Birkhead, Reese Birkhead, Tyler Vickers (Vanessa), Luke Vickers, Megan Prichard (Jordan), and Tanner Vickers; great-great grandchildren, Robert William Vickers, Margaret Jean Vickers, Neo Paul Pritchard, and Sibisiso Pritchard; and sister, Panzie Barber. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Vickers; daughter, Sue Birkhead; son, Bill Vickers; brothers, Howard Finster and Buddy Finster; twin sister, Mona V. Greenfield; and sister, Bobbie Reynolds.
There will be a visitation held at Willis Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 1 PM to 2 PM. The funeral service, officiated by Brother Carl Blankenship, will begin at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman, AR. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Louis Tebbetts, Parker McMahan, Ethan McMahan, Ben Birkhead, Chris Vickers, Mike Vickers, and Greg Tebbetts. Honorary pallbearers are Steve McMahan, Toby Finster, Jacob Birkhead, Sammy Reynolds, Ricky Reynolds, Tyler Vickers, and Luke Vickers.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Woodlawn Nursing Home staff and all workers and her many friends on Aspen and Magnolia Halls. Ona loved you all. She showed it by always teasing.
