Barbara Sue (Taylor) Lasley of Heber Springs, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born in Newport on November 1, 1944, the daughter of Troy and Juanita (Lawson) Taylor.

Mrs. Lasley was a graduate of Newport High School and went on to attend for two years at Arkansas State University. She worked as a Bank Teller at Cleburne County Bank until her retirement. Mrs. Lasley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Heber Springs.

Mrs. Lasley enjoyed going to yard sales and watching the Green Bay Packers. She loved her family and adored her little dog, Sugar, who she could never resist sneaking a sip of Dr. Pepper every now and then. Above all, Mrs. Lasley’s greatest joy in life was being a grandmother and helping to raise her grandchildren. She loved sharing funny stories about each of her grandkids with anyone who would listen, and she had a special way of making each one feel truly cherished. Some of the sweetest memories include her singing silly songs and cooking in the kitchen. She will forever be remembered for “You Are My Sunshine” and her famous ooey gooey butter cake and fried chicken, which were everyone’s favorites. As the grandkids grew older, she hated the idea of just giving money, so she came up with hilarious and unique gifts that will always be treasured. Whatever her kids or grandkids were interested in, she made it her business to learn about it, from the newest video games to the latest rap songs, she always looked for ways to connect with each of them.

Mrs. Lasley is preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Rex Lasley; a brother, Bobby Charles Taylor; and her parents.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Fuller of Heber Springs and Sean Fuller and wife, Rochelle, of Cocoa, Florida; her step-children, Dennis Lasley and wife, Pam, of Catharpin, Virginia and Debbie Tucker of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Troy Taylor, of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Betty Taylor; ten grandchildren, Grant Fuller, Troy Fuller, Grace Fuller, Mattie Fuller, Devan Miller, Randi Fuller, Eric Lasley, Jason Lasley, Ashley Payne, and Natalie Tucker; and three great-grandchildren, Kana, Madeline, and Addison.

There are no services planned at this time.
