Betty Frances (Weaver) Mallett, 91, of Batesville, passed from this life on August 26, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1934, in Newport to Clarence and Myrtle (Davis) Weaver.
Betty lived a life of perseverance, dedication, and love. She pursued her passion for education, earning her teaching degree and later a master’s degree in education. Her heart for children and her gift for patience led her to a career in special education. Throughout the years, she taught at Mammoth Springs, Morrilton, and the Children’s Colony in Conway, where she touched countless lives and made a lasting difference in the lives of her students and their families.
Though she was born with a disabled hand, Betty never let that slow her down. She was determined, hardworking, and fiercely independent. Alongside her teaching career, she raised chickens and cattle, living a life filled with both purpose and resilience.
Outside of work, Betty found joy in many simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and could often be found watching tennis on television. She enjoyed word search puzzles, delighted in her Dove Dark chocolates, and cherished her time spent tending to her animals and garden. Her faith was an anchor throughout her life, and she was a faithful member of Ruddell Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of twenty-seven years, Naymon Mallett.
Betty is survived by her cousins, Bobby Davis (Connie) of Batesville, Barbara Davis of Batesville, and Reverend Frank Crumbaugh of Church Hill, Maryland, along with many friends and loved ones who will remember her strength and kindness.
Betty will be remembered as a woman of determination, compassion, and faith who leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance.
