Mirinda Lee (Race) Neldon of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born December 4, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Duane Wesley and Bunah Mae (Mangum) Race.
Mrs. Neldon dedicated her life to caring for others and worked as a Caregiver for Abilities Unlimited, where she gave compassion, patience, and love to those she served. She married the love of her life, Mr. Don Edward Neldon on September 4, 1988. They were happily married for thirty-seven years. Mrs. Neldon was a member of the Brookland Church of Christ.
Mrs. Neldon was a self-taught piano player and loved singing and listening to music. She was an avid collector of elephants and enjoyed crocheting. Mrs. Neldon was a lover of all animals, especially her dog, Dinkie. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Neldon is preceded in death by one bonus son, Keegan Neldon; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Don Neldon, of the home; six sons, Richard Meador and wife, Trena, of Bay, Reggie Meador and wife, Cindy, of Jonesboro, Heath Neldon of Jonesboro, Josh Neldon and wife, Paige, of Jonesboro, John Neldon and wife, Deanna, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Ben Neldon and wife, Rachel, of Brookland; twenty-four grandchildren, Gabrielle Meador, MyKenzie Gilmer and husband, Saxton, Mallorie Meador, Kaylee Meador-Holcomb and husband, Brent, Ashlee Meador, Karlee Meador, Brandon Neldon, Savannah Neldon, Payton Lammers, Christopher Jones, Makaylyn Neldon, Maddison Neldon, Aiden Neldon, Alanna Neldon, Hayden Hopkins, Grace Hopkins, Carter Clarkson, Jackson Clarkson, EmmaLee Neldon, Eli Benjamin Neldon, Evan Neldon, Kaylyn Neldon, and John Neldon; granddaughter-in-law, Kassidy Neldon; two great- grandchildren, Watson Lee Gilmer and Carter Meador; a sister, Wanda Lee Manuel, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; special friend, Gwen; a host of nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Services for Mrs. Neldon will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Jeff Heitman officiating. Interment will follow in White Lake Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. until the service time.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Richard Meador, Reggie Meador, Josh Neldon, John Neldon, Ben Neldon, and Brandon Neldon. Honorary pallbearers are Heath Neldon, Michael Shaw, Dian Baker, and Helen Rowland.
