Nita Faye Hembrey, daughter of John Frank and Ella Virginia (Stone) Hembrey, was born on January 8, 1964, in Newport, Arkansas. She entered her Heavenly home on August 31, 2025, at the age of 61.
Nita was a woman of Christian belief; her faith guided her throughout her journey. She had a kind and giving spirit, always sharing encouragement and love with all who knew her. At the age of 13, Nita suffered a life-altering accident that changed the trajectory of her life. Yet, her accident never defined her spirit. She faced each day with courage and determination, leaning on her faith. She lived a life filled with faith, love, and devotion to her family.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, Frankie Hembrey, Tom Hembrey, Bob Hembrey, and Roger Hembrey; and four sisters, Dorothy Tarno, Jean Carrick, Ora Lee Bowen, and Jennifer Hembrey Cheshier; and her parents.
Nita loved to play dominoes, gin rummy, and make bracelets to give to her loved ones. She carried a deep love for her brothers and sisters. As she lost each loved one along the way, her heart grew a little more broken. Through her faith, she found comfort in the hope of reunion in Heaven. Among her siblings, Nita shared a very special bond with her sister Jennifer, who was not only her longtime caretaker but also her best friend. She truly cherished her family and friends.
She is survived by two brothers, Richard Hembrey (Linda) of Newport and Monty Hembrey (Michelle) of Elgin, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nita’s legacy is one of unwavering love, Christian devotion, and the reminder to live each day with kindness and grace.
