He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Brenda Sue Boyd.
James is survived by his daughters, Misti Griffin of Jonesboro and Sara Stevens of Newport; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Griffin and Raylynn Griffin, both of Jonesboro; his brothers, Chuck Dyer of Newport and Sammy McClain (Jenny) of Batesville; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry his memory with love.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Interment will follow at Watson Cemetery.
