Obituary: Allen Raymond “Butch” Fergerson

Allen Raymond “Butch” Fergerson of Jacksonport, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born December 18, 1955, in Newport, Arkansas, the son of Raymond and Delores (Eddington) Fergerson.

Mr. Fergerson attended Newport Schools and received his GED in 1973. He earned his carpentry certificate from Vo-Tech. Mr. Fergerson served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He worked for Kohler and for Brown Jordan for 15 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and woodworking. He enjoyed watching westerns, Perry Mason, and Andy Griffin. Mr. Fergerson was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by one stepson, Scott Seymore; one brother, Roger Fergerson; one brother-in-law, Randy Burt; his beloved dog, Fergie, who just recently passed; and his parents.

Mr. Fergerson is survived by his wife of thirty five years, Linda (Baker) Fergerson of the home; one son, Joseph Fergerson and wife, Mindie, of Jonesboro; one daughter, Angela Brooks and husband, Chad, of Greers Ferry; one stepson, Gary Seymore and wife, Shelia, of Batesville; one brother, Billy Dean Fergerson and wife, Patricia, of Jacksonport; two sisters, Sandra Fergerson of Jonesboro and Lisa Burt of Jacksonport; four grandchildren, Hayden Haigwood and wife, Kati, of Newport, Harrison Brooks of Greers Ferry, Hannah Seymore, and Justin Brown; many step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
